Racing to School in 2018 – Looking to the future

Racing to School has been running education programmes with the support of the horseracing industry for 17 years. In 2018, we aim to reach even more young people by increasing the number of our beneficiaries to 14,000. With the help of our donors and the team’s hard work, we plan to enrich the learning of young people and improve their understanding of the sport and its opportunities.

We look forward to working with Equine Colleges, Pony Club branches, our schools and industry partners to build on the successful pilot schemes of our Riders’ and Work Programmes. Our Beacon projects in Aintree and Newmarket continue with the great support of both racecourses and the generous patronage of Godolphin.

In March, we will be running our first activity day at a Point-to-Point meeting –  the Flint & Denbigh at Bangor. The Pointing world has got behind our ambition to work across the grass roots of the sport, in the heart of the community.

Fundraising will always be a priority for a small charity like Racing to School, in particular as we are strive to meet the growing demand for our programmes nationwide. We are fortunate to have been awarded a grant each year from the HBLB (Levy Board) and have secured a number of other valued contributions from new and existing partners in support of our activity – so thank you to everyone. The hard work starts again in the New Year as we set our sights on reaching our target and we hope you may help us by continuing to invest in young people.

Please do stay in touch with the regular updates on our progress posted here on the news section of our new website. We are also going to be sending out a monthly update newsletter, which we hope you will enjoy.
