Laurence Roberts winning poem ‘The Muhaarar Trot’

Earlier this month, pupils from Admirals Academy were lucky enough to visit Shadwell’s Nunnery Stud in Thetford. They were given a unique behind-the-scenes tour of this world-famous operation, including the chance to meet some of the world’s top stallions. Following the visit pupils were tasked with writing a poem to reflect the sights and sounds of life at the stud. All the entries were creative and well-written but the judges awarded first place to Laurence Roberts for his poem ‘The Muhaarar Trot’. The poem was published in today’s Shadwell sponsored racecard at Newmarket Racecourse, you can see a copy here:

Congratulations to Laurence who will today receive a specially made set of silks in the famous colours of HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
