Inclusivity to the fore at Newbury Racecourse

On March 1st, we were delighted to welcome Thatcham Park Primary School to Newbury Racecourse for their first experience of a Racing to School event. Thanks to the racecourse team, they received the full ‘Racing to School’ experience of behind-the-scenes access; an individual set of silks for each pupil; and a chance to meet the horses and watch a race and, most importantly, plenty of opportunities to learn.

To top it all, champion jockey Richard Johnson made sure every pupil received his autograph.

Racing to School programmes are all about engaging participants from any and all backgrounds and we are particularly pleased to be able to offer our activity events to pupils within a school catchment area such as that of Thatcham Park’s.
